Cottonwood
The Community of Cottonwood was located southwest of Rosenberg and east of Beasley along Cottonwood Creek. Promoted by the Waddill brothers, the area once included a brick school, a white-framed wooden church and a cemetery. Names such as Kroesche, Peak, Wehring, Sims, Hartledge, Zunker, Wleczykk, Meyer, Klosterhoff, Reese,Vallet, McCauley and Lamensky built homes along Cottonwood Creek and produced fields of corn, cotton and broom corn.
