Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway
In 1918 the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway built a twenty-one mile extension from Damond Junction to Damon Mound, connecting the local sulfur, limestone, and other mineral extraction industries with Rosenberg.
In 1918 the Needville State Bank opened, and that same year the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway built through the community.
During the 1980s the railroad line through Needville was discontinued and its tracks removed.
In 1918 the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway built through the area two miles southwest of the post office, and the businesses and school moved to the rail line.
Railroad service to the area was discontinued in the 1980s.
